The comparative study is preceded by detailed depth psychological analyses of three selected music tales: "The Creation of the Violin," "The Donkey" and "The Son Fights against the Father." For the first time, an intersubjective method stemming from morphological psychology is tested on fairy-tale texts so that the ideas that occur to listeners can establish contemporary references to the understanding of the fairy tales in our time. Additionally, an index with the 329 fairy tales examined makes this book the most comprehensive collection of European fairy tales up to now in which music appears.
